Kaden Lewis, also known as Benny, is a photographer from the Northern Bay Area city of Santa Rosa. He has been practicing photography since he was twelve years old, and has developed a wide array of work in his portfolio; from astrophotography to automotive, nature to street, his work explores a variation of topics and genres. Kaden grew up skateboarding and working on cars, with his work reflecting these communities he belonged to. He also grew up in the countryside, with a deep love of nature, choosing to mainly photograph predatory birds in their natural environments. In his later years, he developed his work toward street and portrait photography, mainly focusing on his friends as they roamed their hometown of Santa Rosa, commemorating their bonds to one another and solidifying their memory through photographs. Kaden’s goals in his photography are to spark conversations on the American identity, material conditions, and lifestyle, as well as illuminating niche, underground communities.
